Farrier

Carl Butler is the local Farrier. We met in the car park at Rochford Train Station, where Carl gave me some old horseshoes to use as weights in our test dive this coming Sunday. It was freezing, so Carl opened up the back of his van and switched on his mobile-forge to warm us. At the test dive we worked out that we would need in the region of 1000 horseshoes to weigh down the sculpture parts in the reservoir. I’d like to do this, but perhaps there is a way of incorporating horseshoes, without having to get hold of 1000. Carl came up with a solution - to use specially comissioned weights and then just attach a single horseshoe to each piece.
