Planning Permission

This was a meeting with John Whitlock (Town Planning: Rochford District Council) today. We discussed the project and any possible needs for planning permission. Without planning permission the sculpture can’t be more that 4 meters high and the dimensions cannot be more than 200 cubic meters. John and I had a great conversation about the merits and pitfalls of being able to submit a planning application for ‘a secret sculpture’, where the nature of the application would be unknown. The project is already complicated enough, so I decided against testing the system with such an application.
