A clandestine meeting with two anglers at the edge of the Reservoir… Anglers know these waters more than anyone else. Apparently there is a brick pier somewhere in the reservoir. When the reservoir was last dredged 6-7 years ago the deepest part was measured at 4 meters, this is now more likely to be 3 meters because of silting. They told me a funny story about an angler who had his lunch stolen by the local wildlife. As he sat fishing, he saw his foil wrapped sandwiches glisten before they dissappeared into a nearby bush.

They both remembered the reservoir freezing over. This is most likely to happen in January - our dive is scheduled to happen at the end of January, so I hope the winter isn’t too cold this year.
