Debbie the Diver!

This was my first meeting with Debbie Woods (from Dive Odyssea in Rochford). I asked Debbie if she would be interested in diving for sculpture parts in Rochford Reservoir. Divers are underwater explorers, and Debbie was excited by the prospect of being able to map the bottom on Rochford Reservoir for the first time. As far as Debbie knows, no-one has ever dived in Rochford Reservoir before.

We considered the possibility that the reservoir might freeze over (the dive is supposed to be happening in December/January), other than that, the cold weather is not a problem for these hardy, all-season divers. We talked about finding the sculpture again and what might be done to make this task easier for the divers. I don’t mind if parts remain un-discovered, but I think that Debbie sees the collecting of parts as a kind of quest. I’ve asked Debbie if one of the divers would be amenable to videoing the dive/retrieval, she says they would be, so that is good news. The next thing to do is to organise a reconnaissance dive.
